Syrian Cheese Balls (Jibneh maqliyeh)
These little cheese balls are a classic Middle Eastern appetizer made with labne, panko or regular/fine dry breadcrumbs, za’atar, melted butter and sometimes walnuts. They can be deep-fried or baked in the oven but either way they’re delicious. Serve them with a generous sprinkle of za’atar or other spices, a drizzle of olive oil and lemon wedges on the side.
