Double-Chocolate and Salted Caramel Oreos

This is an easy, delicious treat that's perfect for any holiday. Make these cookies even more festive by decorating them with sprinkles or colorful sugars before the final dip in chocolate. For a classic s'mores flavor, use milk chocolate instead of semi-sweet; crushed graham crackers can be garnished on the outside after dipping. You may find it easier to melt the two chocolates separately, as different chocolates often will thicken and harden at different rates. Enjoy!

1

Ingredients

  • Chocolate Oreo Base:
  • - 1 package of Oreos
  • - 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • Salted Caramel Filling:
  • - 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • - 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • - 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  1. 1. In a medium bowl, combine the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt; mix until combined.
  2. 2. Spread the salted caramel filling onto half of the Oreos and top with remaining cookies to make sandwiches. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes.
  3. 3. Dip each cookie sandwich into the melted semi-sweet chocolate and place back on the parchment paper. Allow to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Enjoy!
