Doner Party Kebab

The Doner Party Kebab is a unique twist on the classic kebab. This recipe marinates lean beef cubes in garlic, ginger, green peppers and onions and then threads them onto skewers before char-broiling them to tender perfection. Ingredients

  • Marinade:
  • - 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • - 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • - 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Kebab:
  • - 1 pound lean beef cubes
  • - 1 green bell pepper, cut into cubes
  • - 1 onion, cut into cubes

Preparation

  1. 1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic, ginger, cumin and black pepper. Add the beef cubes and stir to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.
  2. 2. Preheat an outdoor grill or indoor grill pan to medium heat. Thread the beef cubes onto skewers alternating with green peppers and onions. Grill for 10 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with warm pita bread or rice.

Notes

This recipe can also be made in the oven by preheating the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and baking for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
